Freshers' Fortnight 2011

Freshers' Fortnight take place the first two weeks of the academic year running from Saturday September 10th - Friday 23rd. A variety of events are held to help orient and welcome new students. The Annual Freshers' Fair will take place in Áras na Mac Léinn on Wednesday 14th September. Free Freshers' Packs containing the SU diary and lots of other freebies will be handed out to students.

The Campus will come alive on the 10th and 11th of September. Staff, mentors, clubs and societies all came together to welcome first years and their parents to the campus.

Monday 12th September
3pm: DJ Byrno in the College Bar
8pm: Karaoke with Dj Slopey & Fintan in the College Bar

Tuesday 13th September

11am- 4pm Student Welfare Day in Áras na Mac Léinn. Lots of information and freebies relating to student welfare issues, giant inflatable games and the Galway market traders with lots of sweet and savoury treats.

5pm DJ Vinny in the College Bar

6pm The SU Sessions present The Cool Hand Dukes free gig in An Bialann

Wednesday 14th September

11am - 4pm Freshers' Fair loads for free stuff, giant inflatable games and the Galway market traders with lots of sweet and savoury treats in and around Áras na Mac Léinn.

10am - 5pm Clubs' Day in the Student Sports Centre. Also check out the Tag Rugby Blitz for 19th September.

9pm The Official Freshers' Ball: Traffic Light party with Smash Hits, UV lights & UV face painting in the College Bar. Tickets €3 with SU card includes a beverage. Over 18's only - ID required. SOLD OUT (20/09/11)

Thursday 22nd September

3pm Arthur's Day with live Trad music in the College Bar. Get there early to be ready for 17.59!
